Bryce Canyon National Park and Brian Head, Utah

Arriving in Bryce on 9/18, we drove the canyon road South to Rainbow Point and then hiked the Bristlecone Loop Trail.

Then we drove back North stopping at the many scenic overlooks.

There must be no other place on Earth quite like Bryce.

Hoodoo overload!  And why do I have this sudden urge for a bag of Cheetos?

Before returning to the lodge we drove up to the summit.

The ski resort of Brian Head, about 1,000 feet lower than the peak, enjoys the distinction of being the highest town in Utah that is occupied year-round.

We also enjoyed some great fall color in the Dixie National Forest as the aspens were at their peak.

Tundra at the summit: on a clear day you can see parts of 4 states from here.

View of the northern area of Cedar Breaks from the summit.
