| The drive along the floor of the valley was a rough ride, but the slow driving and frequent stops provided many opportunities to enjoy the magnificent scenery. |

| I felt as though I was driving through a John Wayne movie! The Duke made so many films here, starting with the 1939 classic "Stagecoach," that one of his monikers was "The Monarch of Monument Valley." |
